The white medieval walled town of Obidos, is located in the heart of pure Portugal, close to fantastic white sandy beaches and prime golf resorts, on which the world famous Praia d'el Rey golf resort, is the number one. Obidos is a fairy tale city coming directly from ancient times to nowadays. Obidos is also famous for the festivals as for instance: the medieval festival, the chocolate festival, Christmas festival, Obidos literary town festival, Holy Week celebrations, etc.
Several events take place every year in Óbidos. The most important are the Holy Week Festivities (recreating the steps on the Way of the Cross), the Ancient Music Festival in October, the Mediaeval Fair in August, the International Chocolate festival in November and the Christmas Festival in December.
